Home Sleep Testing (HST) also know as Home Sleep Apnea Testing (HSAT) is a diagnostic study which is self-administered by the patient in their home, it is used to diagnose sleep apnea and sleep quality in adults and children. The device measures and records multiple vital health parameters related to your sleep.
Yes, it is very accurate and appropriate for the majority of patients. The devices we use have been approved by the FDA and meet or exceed the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) requirements. Every test is scored by a Registered Sleep Technician and interpreted by a Board-Certified Sleep Physician. It is possible however that the home test may reveal a complex or more serious condition that may warrant a follow up test in a in-lab facility. Although HST is accurate it will not fully replace an attended in-lab study.
Yes. Our equipment is able to capture the data needed to differentiate between the two types. However, the reporting of the Central Sleep Apnea episodes is not as accurate as in in-lab study that analyzes EEG.
No, A prescription is not necessary for home sleep testing but one would be recommended if you are seeking reimbursement from your insurance provider. We always recommend consulting with your Physician to review symptoms and determine need.
The cost of a sleep study depends on the provider. While in-lab sleep studies can range from $1000 –$3,000, sleep apnea home tests are much more affordable. Most home sleep studies range from $149–$400. Our current price is $179.99

One night of testing is the normal for recording data needed. You would place it on at bedtime and remove in the morning when you get up. We also offer multiple night testing options. You will return the device as soon as you've completed your sleep test. Additional charges may apply if you fail to return the device within a timely period.
Maintain your normal sleep routine, if you go to bed and watch tv for a hour that is no problem. We like to mirror your typical nights process for better results.
Sometimes sleep studies cause some anxiety which makes proper sleep challenging. That said, in most cases, the test devices can get enough information for results, even if your sleep feels less than optimal. If you really can’t sleep (less than 3 hours of sleep), you may need to retake the sleep test.
The results of your sleep study will be available within 5 business days after we receive the equipment back. We will notify you and/or your medical provider when the results arrive. We will email the fully interpreted report to you for your records and fax a copy to your medical provider at your request.
